  • Choose the right Sprinter Van

Consider the size of your van / RV based on how many people you're traveling with. For example, a van might be best for a toddler, while a small RV might be better for more living space. We went with a 2023 Winnebago Solis 59px.

  • Pack light

Driving a Sprinter Van is different from driving a car.  Packing light can make things safer and cheaper. Only necessities made the packing list.

  • Plan your route

Map out your route ahead of time so you can avoid getting lost and plan stops for gas, food, and other supplies. I cannot tell you the number of times I have mapped out this journey. Go over it a few times and make tweaks as necessary. #gowiththeflow

  • Don't overload your Van

Exceeding the cargo weight limit can be dangerous, and your insurance might not cover damage claims. It can also make it harder to navigate hills and use more fuel.

  • Pack snacks

Pack portable snacks so kids can eat between stops without getting up while the Van is moving.

  • Establish a routine

Children and adults can benefit from a routine to help things run smoothly! This is key with young children. Especially, our neurodivergent son who thrives from structure and routine.

  • Bring comfort items

A favorite toy or pillow can help kids feel more at ease in an unfamiliar place.

  • Get organized

Designate spots for everything as soon as you pick up the Van to help keep things neat.

  • Plan activity stops

Plan at least one stop per day where kids can get out and stretch their legs. Good stops include scenic overlooks, roadside attractions, or children's museums.
